Elders taught us the meaning of life through wisdoms learned and told around the campfires.

Synopsis: A young man (Colin T. Campbell) regains consciousness in a paranormal forest; he realizes that he has lost his best and only friend — his dog — and with the help of a Native American guide (Will O. Thomas), the man embarks on a dog search that leads him deeper into the unknown.

Background: Written in Chicago; filmed in Michigan; edited in Chicago and Michigan. Inspired by dream imagery. During the post production process, a large amount of the generated video fx was obliterated … the lost footage was recreated from scratch, and during this process of recreation, some of the footage diverged.

Supplementary Notes: I started working on this short-film two years ago and finally completed it in the August of 2009. I wrote the screenplay during my Spring of 2007. After completing the screenplay, I returned to Michigan and immediately resumed work on the pre-production and production phases of the project. I had gathered a fine crew of committed non-actors — additionally, they were my production crew — and I had secured a modest budget (luckily my Dad owned the jet-skis and this saved me from spending hundred of dollars on renting jet-skis). The shooting schedule was quite feasible and I was convinced the film was in the can.

Well, I soon found that the film was far from completion, and the film sat for some months before I gathered enough ambition to start editing. Eventually, the film came alive and the story manifested in its intended form. I could never take credit for these ideas; I just coxed the story into a formation of cinema; I thank the muse and her guiding stimulus.

» Gus, the dog in the film, is Colin T. Campbell's family dog.

» The giant rocking chair featured in the film belongs to my Dad — he purchased it over 30 years ago.

» The buffalo skulls were provided by a slaughterhouse that my close friend's family owns.

» Absolutely no animals were harmed for the making of the film. The skulls were taking from a leftover mountain of buffalo skulls. (Literally hundreds of buffalo skulls lay in that pile).

» Intially, an award-winning body-builder was to be featured in the film, however his character got the cut.
